kuvka Prediction Challenge Rules

These rules describe how the kuvka prediction competition is intended to work for the current World Cup challenge shown in the app.

Entry and Eligibility

The core prediction challenge is free to enter.
You must use a valid kuvka account to submit predictions.
kuvka may limit, suspend, or remove entries from accounts that appear fake, automated, duplicate, abusive, or otherwise in violation of the app rules.

How Predictions Work

You may submit one prediction per account per match.
You may update your prediction until the lock time. The latest saved prediction before lock is the one that counts.
Predictions are made by choosing an exact score for the home team and away team.
kuvka may also run separate pick-the-champion windows during the tournament. Each window allows one trophy-winner pick per account, and the latest saved pick before that window locks is the one that counts.

Lock Time

Predictions lock 10 minutes before the scheduled kickoff time, based on kuvka server time and the kickoff time stored for that match in the app.

If a kickoff time changes before lock, the lock time may move with the updated kickoff. If a kickoff changes after lock, predictions stay locked unless kuvka decides to void or reopen the match under separate published guidance.

Public Transparency

Exact predictions stay hidden until the match locks.
After the cutoff time, revealed predictions may become visible to other users through match pages, public predictor pages, and the leaderboard experience.
Public handles and display names may be shown with revealed picks so other users can verify the competition history.

Scoring

Exact score: 100 points.
Correct goal difference: 50 points.
Correct result home win, away win, or draw: 30 points.
Only the highest matching tier counts for a match. These points do not stack.
3-match streak bonus: the bonus equals the lowest scoring tier across that 3-match streak window.
Examples: exact + exact + exact = 100 bonus points; exact + goal difference + exact = 50 bonus points; exact + result + result = 30 bonus points.

Champion Windows

Window 1 locks at kickoff of Match 25 on June 18, 2026, after every team has played once. Correct champion pick: 300 points.
Window 2 locks at kickoff of Match 73 on June 28, 2026, after the group stage. Correct champion pick: 200 points.
Window 3 locks at kickoff of Match 97 on July 9, 2026, after the Round of 16. Correct champion pick: 100 points.
Windows 2 and 3 may begin as provisional full-field picks. Once the next-round field is officially known in kuvka, the selectable teams narrow automatically to the qualified teams only.
Champion-window points use the same main competition leaderboard as match predictions. They are not a separate score system.

Overlapping Streaks

Streak windows can still overlap. If you correctly predict matches 4, 5, and 6, you earn one streak bonus. If you also correctly predict match 7, you earn another streak bonus for matches 5, 6, and 7.

Each bonus is based on the lowest scoring tier inside that specific 3-match window.

Official Match Result Used for Scoring

kuvka scores predictions using the official home and away score recorded in the app from its match data source for the relevant match result.

Penalty shootouts are not scored as a separate bonus unless kuvka clearly publishes additional match-specific rules before that match locks.

Leaderboard and Ties

The in-app leaderboard reflects the points calculated under these rules. If kuvka offers a prize that requires a single winner and multiple participants are tied, kuvka may apply these tie-breaks in order:

more exact-score hits
more goal-difference hits
more correct-result hits
lower cumulative goal error across scored predictions
earliest valid locked prediction timestamp for the final match

Voids, Errors, and Exceptional Cases

kuvka may void, delay, correct, or rescore a match if there is a data issue, material outage, duplicate fixture, rule error, or integrity issue.
If a match is abandoned, significantly altered, or otherwise becomes unsuitable for normal scoring, kuvka may mark predictions as void.

Prizes and Premium

Any sponsor-funded prize, if offered, will be subject to separate official prize details and any required local restrictions. Premium subscriptions or paid features do not automatically grant better odds, extra entries, or special scoring unless kuvka explicitly publishes that change in official rules.

Badges and Partner Perks

Badges are separate from prediction points and do not change the competition leaderboard.
Badge tiers are for status, profile identity, and community recognition.
Any visible kuvka badge may qualify the user for partner offers at participating venues, subject to each venue's published terms.

Prize Eligibility and Winner Verification

If kuvka offers a major prize for a tournament, the winning account may be marked provisional until identity and eligibility checks are complete.
kuvka may require proof of age, residency, identity, account control, and delivery details before a prize is awarded.
If a provisional winner does not respond in time, fails verification, or is found ineligible, kuvka may disqualify that account and move to the next eligible participant.

Fair Play

No fake-account farming, automated submissions, identity misrepresentation, abuse of bugs, or manipulation of leaderboard data.
One natural person may maintain only one prize-eligible account unless kuvka explicitly approves otherwise in writing.
kuvka may review device, session, network, and account signals when investigating duplicate-account or automation concerns.
kuvka may investigate suspicious activity and disqualify or remove entries when needed to protect the integrity of the competition.

Changes to the Rules

kuvka may update these rules before or during the tournament if needed for clarity, legality, fairness, or technical reasons. Material changes should be posted in the app before they are applied going forward.
